Nordic Curls
Are you doing Nordic Curls? This are an exercise I've recently been incorporating into my glute/hamstrings days.
A big portion of the population sits at a desk all day, and their hamstrings are continuously in a shortened position, which can lead to painful tightness in the hamstrings and pain in the lower back.
Nordic Curls help to lengthen the hamstrings, especially during the eccentric portion of the movement(the downward portion). As such, the lowering portion is the key area to focus on, and the end goal is to perform a slow controlled movement.
Initially, it may be beneficial to start with a resistance band to help control with the eccentric(doing it with no help is pretty difficult!) and as you get more comfortable you can use lighter bands or even bodyweight! As you can see, I am not quite there yet! While it may not get you huge hamstrings, it will help you stay injury free in the long run.
